Welcome to the November Friends of Unity Blog Hop.
My card is pretty traditional for the theme. I had a lot of fun making it because I got to use a gel plate background I made some time ago. I had a couple of full size sheets of paper I had played with and then stuck in the closet. I finally pulled them out and decided to cut them down with a stitched rectangle die to see if I would come up with a way to use them. This panel was just sitting there and I thought, hey, it's fall colors I'm going to use it.
Our theme this month is Giving Thanks.
I started by putting it in my Misty and stamped this swirly leave stamp randomly all over it with Distress Oxide in frayed burlap. I just moved the stamp and paper all around to fill it it. Then I used Distress Oxide in antique linen and frayed burlap to blend over the lighter areas in the background and bring the colors closer to what I was doing with my leaf stamp.
I colored and fussy cut the leaf. I die cut a square and used Distress Oxide antique linen and frayed burlap to ink it up. I used Distress Oxide in ground espresso to ink mats for the leaf, sentiment and backgound paper. I stamped the sentiment and inked it with the same to Distress oxides. I matted every think with my custom colored mats and assembled it by mounting the leaf and sentiment panel with foam tape.
Copics used:
Leaf: YR23, YR24, E55
Stamps used:
Simple Blessings-Swirl background
Autumn Dream-sentiment
This last card is a bonus. I have spent the month of October preparing a baby shower for my daughter. It's today. I decided to make her a stack of Thank you cards as part of her gift. I kept them very simple because of time constraints and I wanted them one layer for mailing purposes. This is what I came up with. Just simple stamping and one element colored with color pencil for no bleed through.
It is me giving Thank yous to my daughter so she can Give Thanks to those who came to her shower.
