Hello my friends. It's been a crazy month hasn't it. Friends of Unity are hopping again and this month we have a sketch for inspiration. I have to admit that I admire people who look at a sketch and give it a creative twist. That is not me, so my card follows the sketch pretty closely.
Here's my card.
Stamp the telephone and sentiment from Old Ways from Unity Stamp Co. Use a light gray colored pencil to shade the phone if you desire. Fussy cut the phone and mat the sentiment with black.
To create the background, start with an A2 size white cardstock. Rip some washi or purple tape and tape off the bottom and the right side. Use some copy paper or masking paper to rip a shape similar to the photo above and tape it down. Ink a text stamp with black and stamp the open area. Do not move the paper or the stamp.
Shift the copy paper slightly to the left and stamp again without re-inking the stamp. You want the lighter, second generation stamp for this edge to "fade" the script out. Remove everything from the Misti and trim down the long sides about 1/4 inch. This card needed a little bit of each side. Mat this on black card stock and attach to a card base. Put foam tape on the back of the phone and sentiment and place on card. This is a quick and easy card but I think the black and white look is striking.
Be sure to follow along with the rest of the hop. There are some prizes to be given away, so be sure to check back next month.

I, too, have a hard time thinking outside my own box. When I see a sketch, I think it needs to be Just Like The Sketch, but Crystal reminded me that it's a starting point, have fun with it, and do your thing...so I did LOL You did way better!!
I love this card. I am buying that stamp. Fabulous!
